Curriculum Review

Organizations that seek approval for a training program must follow this rubric to be considered for NIDE training program approval:

  1. A minimum of 8 hours of training:
    Training must include a combination of hands-on training, classroom-based training, and role-play training.

  2. All PowerPoint presentations and handouts must be reviewed by NIDE’s Standards of Excellence (SOE) Council.

  3. Must include a test that has been reviewed by the SOE Council.

  4. Test scores must be sent to NIDE via e-mail for filing by using the standard Proctor Scoring document. This document will be sent after your application for NIDE Training Approval is accepted.

  5. The test must cover at least two questions related to the content in the Required Curriculum and Test Content section of this document, below. The test must have a minimum of 50 questions, which can be multiple choice, true or false, short answer, and/or open response.

  6. Must be taught by an NIDE-approved instructor or proctor.

  7. A Specialized Application must be created and approved by SOE Council:
    After your application for NIDE Training Approval is accepted, NIDE will send you a Specialized Application document that you will personalize to your training and return for final Council review.

  8. Certificates must be approved by SOE Council:
    Once your application for NIDE Training Approval is accepted NIDE will send a Certificate Sample that you can personalize to your training and return for final Council review. This will be kept on file and each certificate will be stored in our national registry.

  9. All certificates will include the organization’s identification credential [NAME OF TRAINING OR ORGANIZATION] followed by “NIDE Certified” for example:
    NIDE Approved Training [Phoenix Techniques] NIDE Certified (PT-NC)
